Bibio - Sleep On The Wing (2020) [Label: Wrap Records]

A la lisière du Pays de Galles, les Midlands de l’ouest de l’Angleterre forment une région verdoyante marquée par une large ceinture rurale préservée de l’urbanisation. C’est non loin de ce paysage sylvestre qu’a grandi Stephen Wilkinson alias Bibio, ce producteur anglais connu pour son talent à conjuguer ses guitares à des arrangements électroniques de toute beauté.

C’est sur la ligne de crête d’un folktronica mêlant pop lo-fi et expérimentations sonores qu’a ainsi gambadé Bibio, Dans ces West Midlands où naquit aussi William Shakespeare, le joli clip de Sleep On The Wing nous conte l’exode infini d’un martinet vers une flore printanière, faite de pâturages, de prairies et de rivières. Planant «Fip»

Je viens d’apprendre un nouveau terme «folktronica», dans l’ancien monde on parlait de rock pastoral ou champêtre

Un album qui n’est pas sans rappeler l’univers d’Anthony Phillips ou de Mike Oldfield

Les Britanniques ont annoncé un double CD Live pour Juillet .

After the incredible reaction to the recent live stream of our ’Show of Resistance’ concert we’ve decided to make it available in a limited edition double CD format as part of the Archive Collection series.

The double CD includes all 2 hours and 15 minutes of music from the video and comes in a 6 panel digi file (not digipak - no plastic used!) with a 4 page booklet and introduction text by Peter Nicholls.

At a price of £12 the income from this release will help the band recoup some of the losses we’ve made this year by having to cancel the live shows. We’re hoping to have copies at the start of July, but it’s available for pre-sale now.

J'ai wishlisté ce dernier album des Norvégiens mais je ne l'ai pas encore écouté , j'avoue que je n'ai pas encore franchi le pas car Disconnected m'avait plutôt déçu . Donc encore en mode hésitation .....
