Pas très original le Blues, puis qu'il vous sort une fois de plus un opus de la fabuleuse collection "Jazz in Paris" chez Gitanes Jazz Production ...

Cette fois-ci, j'ai ressorti de derrière les fagots un album consacré à un des batteurs "symboles" du St Germain des Prés 50/60, j'ai nommé Kenny Clarke . Les moustachus de ce forum me pardonneront mais je rappelle que ce gusse est quand même resté dans l'Histoire comme le batteur de la bande à Miles sur "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud", excusez du peu

Donc ce disque, " Kenny Clarke's sextet plays André Hodeir" est une pépite de swing , un vrai bonheur. Aux côté de K.Clarke derrière ses fûts, on trouve un superbe Roger Guérin à la Trompette, Hubert Rostaing à l'Alto, Billy Byers ou Nat Peck au trombone, Armand Migiani au Baryton, des pianistes inconnus selon les morceaux (Martial Solal ou René Urtreger ), l'inévitable Pierre Michelot à la Basse (alternativement avec Jean Warland ), et tout cela sur des arrangements de André Hodeir ==> https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Hodeir

En fait, j'ai acheté ce disque il y a quelques années, sur la réputation de la collection, et sur les noms de Clarke, Michelot, Solal et Urtreger , et puis je l'ai "oublié" Heureusement, dans un ultime instinct de survie, il m'a sauté au visage avant hier et depuis il tourne en boucle.

Si vous le trouvez, achetez le, si vous l'avez dans l'étagère qui va bien, sortez le de nouveau, et si vous trouvez d'autres disques de cette collection incroyable, achetez, achetez tout ce que vous trouvez, les yeux fermés
